Feature request: I wish I could quickly duplicate a past run (then edit it, then run the edited version) - I’m frequently having to re-run flows, changing little each time, and it’d be nice to be able to start with the configuration of a past run

Thanks for the feedback @Cooper Marcus!
When you say "changing little each time" and "start with the configuration of a past run", could you give an example of what changes vs. what stays the same in between your runs?

recently all I’ve been changing, in the Prefect UI, is the run name - I also make changes to code on the server where the prefect agent is running, and I change the run name in Prefect UI to summarize what I changed in the code on the server
ideally, soon, we’ll have more config “knobs” exposed in the Prefect UI, so I’ll be changing more in the prefect UI, and less on the server, with each experimental run

Gotcha, is "code on the server where the prefect agent is running" the Flow code or something else related to Prefect?

Hey @Cooper Marcus, we’ve had discussions around this where we have some sets of flow runs that a non technical user than trigger from Prefect. We’ve deferred this in the mean time because it’s quite a bit of work, but it’s certainly something a lot of people have requested and we’re aware about.

@Zach Angell not flow code - it is custom YAML config that we write that gets executed by the prefect flow
@Kevin Kho in this case note I’m just asking about “duplicate config of past run in prefect UI” - not the larger idea of facilitating use by less-technical users
