Hey! What is the most lightest/easiest way to run Prefect agent remotely? I have a script that runs within 20 seconds, doesn’t required too much computation power or storage. And it’s a personal project that have low stake. My current option is renting servers on digital ocean ($5/mo), but I wonder if there’s better option for that (maybe heroku dyno? haven’t explore it yet)

I don't know the situation with that these days, but what about AWS free tier? Or if you happen to have a spare Raspberry Pi lying around, that might be fun to try.

💯 on Amanda’s suggestion with the free tier. All cloud providers offer a free tier and with AWS you get it for 12 months. You could e.g. use it to run a small EC2 instance with a local or docker agent entirely for free. One community user used replit.com for a hobby project hosting ECS agent, so there are a lot of opportunities here. I also have this blog post showing how to set up an agent on ECS, and ECS really costs very little because you pay for only one container running your agent 24/7 rather than for an entire instance, and if you are on a free tier, this should cost you nothing.

Thank you Anna for the suggestion! Never thought about Replit, will take a look. Maybe it’s time to face my AWS-phobia 🙂
