Hi! Since yesterday one of our flows has stopped running, it is marked as white in the UI (see screenshot). This is pretty urgent so it would be nice if I could get some quick help!

What's the state of those flow runs ?

I cannot even see the state. If i hover over a flow run i can only see the name of the run

That's really weird indeed. Are you running on Prefect Cloud or Server ?

I'm sorry, I can't think of anything that would cause this off the top of my head. You might have to contact the support directly or wait for a Prefect team member to answer here.

@Samuel Tober those white bars may indicate scheduled flow runs that had to be canceled by the Scheduler service due to new flow version. Any time you register a new flow version, the already scheduled flow runs for that flow version have to be cancelled - maybe that's what was indicated by those white bars? if you find more about that in a post-mortem, let us know

We did not create a new version recently so I cannot see how that would be the issue, but I will let you know if we would find the reason ๐Ÿ™‚

@Samuel Tober and @Sylvain Hazard and anyone else stumbling upon this issue: the issue you see is a pure UI thing that happens when switching between light and dark mode! I've just found it out from our UI team. So on the backend side everything should work as expected and no need to worry about the white bars - refreshing your screen should sort it out! ๐Ÿ™‚

But for us it seems like the flow was never run, we have notifications set up with slack and never received a notification

this must be a separate issue than the white bars thing ๐Ÿ˜„ you mentioned it's resolved after you reregistered so I'd "close" the thread for now - if something like this happens again and you have some questions about it, let's open another thread ๐Ÿ‘

I would say itโ€™s very much related to the white bars. Would be nice to understand why it happened. Really doesnโ€™t seem like a only UI thing for us
We had a successful scheduled run at 1pm CET, but are seeing white bars again after that

@Jesper Hemmingsson the reason I asked about the separate thread for the backend question is that we archive those to Discourse and I already did that for the UI question https://discourse.prefect.io/t/my-flow-runs-have-white-bars-in-the-prefect-ui-what-might-be-the-issue/467 would be nice if you could open a separate thread if the issue still persist - I thought it got resolved after reregistering the flow?

I see. Was note aware about how the threads work. We managed to make the flows run after re-registering, but we still see white bars after that (see the picture). But Iโ€™ll create another thread then ๐Ÿ™‚

@Jesper Hemmingsson and @Samuel Tober - it's hard to see from the screenshot but it looks like the bars are in a cancelling state? (As Anna suggested above.) You should be able to click on the bar and get taken to its corresponding flow run page. Can you see any more information about your run there?

The darker grey bar is a cancelled run. The other ones are not I think. When I click on one of the light grey / white bars, this is what I see:

Can you show a full UI screen? ๐Ÿ˜„ the most important part about the flow run state is hidden here
Also, what are the 2 black dots when you hover over them? never seen this before
And since you are on Prefect Cloud, you can either send here or DM me the flow run IDs of the unexpected flow runs that behave in a weird way and we could investigate more this way

This is all the info we can see in the UI. I cannot hover over the black dots since the zoom/pan box is blocking
