Hey all, Heeje here. I'm a data engineer at Illumina and my group and I will be evaluating Prefect over the next few weeks so I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions. I come from an Airflow background but I've been hearing a lot about Prefect Core and Orion so i'm excited to explore!

Is there a built in way to extend custom classes I write? In Airflow for direct comparison you can put custom operators in the plugins folder. I'm thinking I could always sneak it into prefect.tasks root folder and import it like i would with other library tasks. Mainly thinking of ways for other members of my team to use task libraries I write in the future with a direct import

With Prefect, you own your own execution environment. So you need to โ€œsneak it inโ€ in both registration environment and execution environment (the machine that runs the flow). Really though, itโ€™s best practice to add them in a container and then use that container for your flow
