so if we are a cloud customer, will 2.x have a deprecation path similar to 1.x - 2.0 or will 2.x be supported indefinitely ?

2.x and 3.x are only different client versions that talk to the same Prefect Cloud that exists today. This is not like the 1 -&gt; 2 migration.

Prefect Cloud will continue to be compatible with 2.x client versions. We're always testing compatibility and have no intention of changing that

gotchya so in theory based on all available information right now we dont need to do anything ?

as in when 3.0 releases? yeah just keep on using what you've got. If you want to install 3.0 before it becomes the default on pip there are going to be some breaking changes you may need to address in your flow code depending on how it's written
