hey guys! I'm trying investigate a problem we're having, how do I find the IP address that a prefect agent is connecting from?

where is your agent running?

that's the problem! I can't find it! it should be right where I expect it to be in the k8s cluster but some other agent is showing up and trying to run a bunch of workloads

are you hosting your own server?

we're hosting our own "prefect agent" on top of "prefect cloud" (not sure what "server" you're talking about)

server as opposed to prefect cloud, sorry I wasn't clear

yeah we're using prefect cloud

in that case, honestly I don't know

is your k8s cluster on prem or in a cloud service?

it's a cloud service but I'm already well versed in k8s and have checked everywhere I can think of on that front

if everything is exiting the VPC through the same public IP I'm not sure if that'd be useful. If the suspicion is someone started an agent at home or in an office somewhere, that might help. let me see what I can find out

luckily we're not using cloud nat so each node has it's own IP; if the whole vpc had one egress IP address though then I agree it would be pointless
