What happens if one of the automation or blocks is failed while running a flow?
Is this logged somewhere? can be reflected in the flow results somehow?

Absolutely! If an automation fails, there will be an event in the event feed showing that. If any block method fails during a flow run, the error will get surfaced and the flow run will fail
